Grill Grate FAQ

Are Dyna-Glo grill grates cast iron or stainless steel?
Most Dyna-Glo gas grills come with porcelain-enameled cast iron cooking grates, which retain heat well and create excellent sear marks. Replacement grates are available in both cast iron and stainless steel. Cast iron holds heat better; stainless steel is more rust-resistant and easier to clean.
How do I know what size grill grate I need?
Each Dyna-Glo grill uses grates of a specific size. Measure the length and width of your existing grate, or look up your model number. Most Dyna-Glo gas grill grates are approximately 10" x 17" per section, sold in sets of 2-5 depending on the number of burners.
How do I season new cast iron grill grates?
Coat the new grates with a thin layer of vegetable oil or cooking spray. Heat the grill to 350-400°F and let the grates cook for 30-40 minutes with the lid closed. This creates a non-stick seasoning layer. Repeat 2-3 times for best results. Re-season after every deep cleaning.
